End BC's Dangerous & Costly Wait Period for Health Care for Immigrants

This is an outdated, dangerous policy that isn't backed up by evidence. Carrying on this way is actively harmful.

The health system must be modified and return to the person to person attention. If the system was not good before I BC with the ten minutes time for appointment and only one issue to be consulted, now is worse with phone appointments and 3-4 minutes per appointment.

This is plain wrong.

I signed to support for refugees family to get health care service asap they need No waiting period of 3 months,The most of the time people came with a lot of health Issues ,if they came in this country why its the reason to put on risk they health and to add more worries in their journey.

We need this to show respect and appreciation to Migrants by protecting everyone since their arrival.

Working in health care, I see the negative impacts of the 3 month wait daily. It creates gaps that leave people without viable choices to access health care when they need it.

We are part of building the nation of CANADA, (GOOD HEALTH is WEALTH for the COMMUNITY & the COUNTRY) is at least you can give us in respect of our contribution to the economy, WE ARE HUMAN like you.

Let's address this injustice, now.

As an immigrant parent to a daughter, and social worker supporting immigrant/refugee population, I directly felt & saw the negative impact for the women caring for minors. Please support parents, mothers, & caregivers to many sectors in the Canadian society!

There is no logical reason to not provide care immediately.

this is such a simple solution towards health equity for immigrants and migrants, especially females.

All care workers and all other migrants who are new to the country will benefit from removing the three-month wait period before accessing the free medical care as provided under the BC MSP. As temporary workers who are susceptible to being sick - catching it from children and employers they take care of or being exposed to inclement weather having worked in the fields all day - their first three months do not protect them from getting sick. In fact, anyone, temporary or permanent residents, could get sick and should have access to free health care. This is how universal health care should be implemented.

Speed it up

This is not a ethical practice.

The BC Federation of Labour supports this petition calling for the immediate and permanent end to the three month waiting period for MSP in the province of British Columbia.

I am in full support this petition. The existing policy is discriminatory.
