The National Harbor was created in 2008, and since then has become a great staple for those that live close and want a great getaway in their backyard. The amenities since the opening of the harbor have grown and a true community has emerged. In order to enjoy all that the harbor has to offer, street parking and garages have been placed for our convenience. But how convenient are these parking places? Did you know that the National Harbor is the ONLY destination in the DMV (DC, Maryland, & Virginia) that has parking enforced 24/7? Yes that's correct, all-day, everyday. That includes federal holidays. In addition to the strict parking enforcement, the prices are outrageous. This petition has been drafted to change the strict parking enforcements at The National Harbor, so that those that are within the community can experience all that harbor has to offer without paying so much. The ideal parking enforcement would be that meter parking would be free after 6pm on weekdays, and 10pm Friday-Saturday; Free parking on Sunday. Garage parking would have flat rates of $5 after 6pm on weekdays, flat rates of $10 after 10pm Friday-Saturday, and free parking on Sunday. This is our neighborhood and we can fight to change it!
