I graduated from the U of R in 2014 with a degree in animal behavior and I now work for an animal welfare organization. I think the university could set a really important example by choosing adoption. Over 9,000 healthy and adoptable animals are killed every single day in our nations shelters. Let's take a stand and make a difference!

When I saw the news that the U of R was looking to breed Thurber's niece, I wondered why... they SHOULD consider a rescue. My alma mater has been forward thinking in so many ways... let this be another!

please consider looking for rescue pups, which could even be English bulldogs. This bourgeoise notion of pure bred dogs is no longer necessary on our campus.

I'd love to see the U of R commit to rescue and mixed breed bulldogs!

I urge my beloved university to please stop breeding our mascot. There are many other options and so many animals that need a home.
