Encourage the Penfield Town Board to pass a resolution to REPEAL the NY S.A.F.E. Act
We are encouraging the Penfield Town Board to take a state against the NY S.A.F.E. Act and pass a resolution to REPEAL the legislation. The NY S.A.F.E. Act was the gun legislation that Governor Andrew Cuomo rushed into voting with an unnecessary Message of Necessity. In doing so, he bypassed public comment, expert testimony, and the 3 day waiting period. Many of our New York Representatives have come forward admitting that they 1. Did not fully read the law before voting to pass it or 2. Did not fully understand the law and its affects on the citizens before voting for it. The NY S.A.F.E. Act criminalized New York gun owners overnight. These law abiding citizens were the target of this legislation as a common criminal will not comply with the NY S.A.F.E. Act. It turned their legal, tax paid property into a criminal offense to be in possession of. And in now way addresses the violent criminals that commit the crimes. It violates the Constitution, and 2nd Amendment, as well as the Supreme Court Case "The District of Columbia vs. Heller" 2008. We are asking for the Town of Penfield to join over 320 State municipalities (towns and villages) as well as 52 counties, and 38 law enforcement and other organizations and send a strong message of opposition against the S.A.F.E. Act; as well as becoming the 4th municipality in Monroe County to pass one.
