New Zealand citizens that have difficulty and suffer pain getting from a vehicle to their intended destination PAY for a Mobility Parking Permit that allows them to exclusively park near their destination. We often distressingly find able bodied people have illegally parked there. If reported to the police they say it is a private matter and do nothing even though fines are applicable. The offenders often are full of excuses and defensive or belligerent and sometimes downright threatening to people that are already frail. We need this "be kind" government to promote ACTIVE ENFORCEMENT of punitive fines for belligerent mobility parking offenders.
