The RIC-AAU is important to the community as they provide services to help refugees and immigrants find and maintain meaningful employment and life skills. Through its support of the immigrant and refugee population, it supports the community as a whole.

AAU has done so much to help refugees as they transition to life in America and continue to support them as they navigate housing,family, health and work chanllenges they face. Please, continue funding for the program.

I have worked with AAU for several years and the partnership in Job Development is needing to continue so we can utilize their services to help our refugee population in Job Search and Employment when our associates need Employment after the work training and ESL training at the LDS Humanitarian Center

I'm the Administrative Director at Biotron Laboratories. We are located in Centerville. One of my responsibilities is to hire for all of the positions in our company - continually train and support the employees. We have hired 4 amazing employees from this immigration program. We have hired 4 and have kept 4. This is 100% success rate! We have struggled to find employees who have comparable work ethic outside of this program. These 4 employees are 4 of the best we have had! This program has been a positive solution for our hiring needs. The Asian Association has provided interpreters when needed. The employees that we have hired from this program are working hard to provide a better life for there families. They are coming into the country the legal way - and truly want to do what it takes to be successful here. They are starting over and work harder than any we have seen. All four have taken ESL classes and continue to learn English. They don't want us to make language exceptions - they all want to learn everything in English. This is not the case with some of the Spanish speaking employees we have had. These employees from the immigration center are great examples to us all. We should be doing all we can to continue this program and help this program to grow in other communities. This program does make an impact in providing opportunities to people who are willing to work hard and employers who hire them.

Our company has employed countless refugees over the last several years (many of whom were referred through AAU) They are such great people and have been so good for our company. I would hate to see them go away. I also am so appreciative of the selfless, dedicated work the people at Asian Association do on a daily basis, and I value the relationships I have made there. I sincerely hope we can save this program. Thank you.

The Employment Services Program run by the Asian Association of Utah is extremely helpful to the refugees in our community, but also to employers and the community generally. They are extremely committed, effective and talented people. They bring together refugees and employers, creating productive employees, adding skills, helping local employers, and creating opportunity for all of us along the way. Defunding this activity is a false economy and will end up costing us all.
