You have the opportunity to overhaul sentencing policy in this Bill, failure to act risks continuing a policy of chaotic and damaging over-sentencing and an ever-increasing prison population. This is a political failure that needs a political solution.
No more human warehouses; in place education, rehabilitation and reform. The need to speed up process has never been greater their continued imprisonment also has an effect on other prisoner’s mental health, it is time to do something I don't want any more suffering. Better guide lines for management of IPP prisoners is key to stop IPP prisoners being abused and recalled, on non offences or because of privatised profit. We need to allow prison staff more time to work with prisoners to prepare for release/ parole board hearings.

Serving an indefinite prison sentence when one has served the sentence given to them by a judge is inhumane. Release these people NOW.

Please someone look at the IPP cases , people are rotting in prison when they have done all courses that they have been asked to do and have been an enhanced prisoner for 8 years out of 10 ,even though the sentence was 9 years.

my man got 6 years Ipp and has done nearly 10. even though he has everything in place for coming out and is not getting any younger it seems that the system just want to show that he is their property. I worry that by the time he gets out he'll be a little old man.

Ipp is a highly political sentence now abolished but leaving around 12000 prisoners still serving this inhumane sentence which has no release date,this is tantamount to torture and has no place in a civilized society something MUST be done!
