We need small businesses and artists to keep our city thriving. In the face of a pandemic our thoughts should be with helping all who will be most negativly impacted, such as restaurants, bars and artists.

I am a food service worker and most of the people I know are too. During this pandemic and the resulting closures, we need the government to be there for us. Our labor keeps the economy running, and we deserve to be supported during a time when we can’t work.

As one of the many workers living on the edge of losing housing in normal times, the only way I will not be financially ruined and lose my housing during this time is rent forgiveness. The pandemic is much more than physical health and we are relying on our governments at all levels to recognize this and take action.

It’s vitally important for the service industry to have a safety net
