One of my biggest critiques of Elon is that it can use so many buzzwords like “diversity” and “global citizenship” without taking the necessary steps to encourage the real, ACTIVE dialogue needed for these terms to mean anything. It’s not enough for students and faculty to passively espouse these beliefs. I spent many hours facilitating discussions of important topics to a room of glassy-eyed, uninterested, and unwilling students. I hope that Elon can encourage the discourse and actions necessary to dismantle the unjust systems that are both directly and indirectly associated with it.

I graduated in 2016 and fully support your calls to action. Thank you for your labor and time and passion in putting this together. Your words so crystal clear and so absolutely necessary and I hope every single demand of yours is met.

This is important! Elon students must go into the real world more informed and passionate about making a change.

As a new alumni, I will not be giving any gifts to Elon until I see real change. I will also be encouraging other alumni to do the same.
