The Red Squadron was an Alliance Starfighter Corps X-wing squadron active during the Galactic Civil War. The squadron most famously fought at the Battle of Yavin and Battle of Endor. During the assault on the Death Star, Red Squadron gained the distinction of being the unit that brought down the Death Star's defenses as well as ultimately destroying the station itself. But the victory came at a price. Almost the entire squadron was destroyed, except for two X-wings flown by Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles. In the X-Wing Miniature combat game, the Red Squadron has the unfortunate distinction of being the only Pilot Skill Four pilot group that does not have access to Elite Pilot upgrade cards. All of the other PS 4 groups - the Imperials Black Squadron Pilots, the Saber Squadron Pilots, and the Rebel Green Squadron pilots - enjoy this distinction. But not the heroes of the assault on the Death Star! The time has come to petition Fantasy Flight Games to correct this oversight. It's time to honor the noble warriors of the Red Squadron!
