In this economy and country today this is one of the only careers in which a person doesn't need a college education in able to get a good paying job and provide for themselves and their families. It is a career that people work extremely hard at, and deserve the tips they get. It is an OPTION for guests to even leave a tip. Leave that option open to allow the people who don't currently have the qualifications, or are currently in the middle of acquiring the qualificaitions to get a job with higher pay than minimum wage - which is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to live off of, Not only would this bill be severly hurting thousands of employees pay, the entire restaurant business and experience would significantly decline. It would turn into a DMV but with food. All day long dealing with difficult people, with no difference in your pay and no tips, there would be no reason for the extra effort to be put forth in such difficult times. A bad idea all around.

You've got to be kidding. Tips are how people in that industry survive!!!! Put your energy and time inyto something that matters..... Shall we take your salary, benefits or bonuses away???

...Tips are optional...people that work for them must preform well to receive good tips...the government has absolutely no right to control options exercised by free people...it is simply another way for them to increase their tax revenue & must be fought...

This is a ridiculous bill. Tipping is incentive for servers to do a good job. We've already eliminated so many incentives for people to perform at their best when we started awarding people for showing up. Don't degrade our society any more with this bill.

Bad idea. Tipping isn't a perfect system but this is not an appropriate replacement.

Not everybody gives the same service so it's not fair to have somebody who sucks at the service industry make as much as somebody who is very good at their job.

I oppose this bill! Stop this load of crazy...We are NOT Europe... Many restaurants will close.. And YOU will put us out of jobs! OUR state can't afford anymore unemployment! Hartford going bankrupt...Focus on more important things!!

This is one of the most rediculous wastes of our government monies. If you take away tips, you take money right out of the service industry. Thus destroying an industry.
