We believe the position of the Superintendent at SCCS should be eliminated.  For much of the school's history there was no superintendent and the school was much larger and ran much better.  The benefits of the elimination of the position would be:

1) Cost savings

2) Better, more honest communication between the Board and key areas of the school.  High School education, Elementary education, Development, Athletics etc would present directly to the Board and each other.  The Board would know what was happening in the school and each area of the school would know what was happening with each other.  Communication would be direct and open, direction could be set for a month and reviewed at the next board meeting

3) Automatic promotion of an expert in each field to the top of the decision tree in their area of expertise (ex: Athletic Director now becomes head of athletics instead of the Superintendent, Business Manager now becomes head of Business Decisions instead of the Superintendent etc.)

4) Empowerment of employees as each area (Athletics, Development, Education etc) would have ownership of their area of expertise

5) Elimination of ineffective micromanaging

6) Elimination of confusion among employees and constant, erratic direction changes

7) Implementation of an effective, long term overall plan and in each area created through collaboration of Board and leaders in each area (ex Business Manager, Athletics, etc.)
