Final supporters
The $3,000 student "self help" contribution to financial aid forces students whose families cannot afford to pay it for them to work hundreds of hours each year, in addition to hours spent working to pay for the other expenses of college life.
In order to equalize access to all of the academic, extra-curricular, and social opportunities that Yale has to offer, we urge the University administration to completely phase out the student contribution to financial aid.

I have been reading through the stories you all are sharing about the exhaustion that comes from balancing these mandatory work hours with our actual education. It is heartbreaking to see how many of us are missing out on the full Yale experience because we are stuck in the library working just to cover a fee that should not exist. I am currently compiling your experiences into a formal document to present to the administration.

Seeing this kind of momentum reminds me of those long nights I spent juggling shifts just to keep up with these costs. It feels like the administration can no longer look away from the reality of our daily lives.

its so unfair that we have to work extra jobs just to afford the same education as the rich kids. this needs to go.
Working 2 jobs on top of my classes is burning me out. I just want to focus on my degree without the stress.
YALE HAS THE MONEY. stop making low income students suffer for their degree. give us a fair shot.
Yale should be about the students not about squeezing every penny out of us. Get rid of this contribution!
total nonsense that people come here on scholarship but still have to work basically full time. change it now.

my parents cant help me and this contribution is killing me. please listen to us.
