The University of Virginia is a place where everyone should feel safe and valued. Everyone has earned their place here. Everyone here is special and has immeasurable worth. No one should be made to feel less or feel scared because of their race, religion, or culture. Hate language is completely unacceptable. It's sad to know that some students feel that they are better than others to the point that they would say and do such hateful things. Those actions prove that they are no better than anyone. As a community, we need to stand together to make it known that intolerance and hate will not be accepted. We need to rise up, show love and acceptance to all, and do what we can to flush the hate out of the hearts of our closed-minded peers.
