Mr. Prohias, teacher of our AP United States History course, has implemented the "Anderson Rule" on all assignments.
The Anderson Rule is as follows: For example, if 20 people do not turn in an assignment, Mr. Prohias would value that assignment 20 grades."
We, students, believe that it is unlawful, and unjust.
This "rule" has drastically altered our grade and represents an INACCURATE measure of our knowledge for the 2014 - 2015 school year.
The goal of this petition is to calmly illustrate to school administration its importance and how it is affecting the student body.

I never imagined so many people felt the same way about this grading policy. It is overwhelming to realize that what started as a frustration in one classroom has become a conversation we are having together.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you stepped up to back this cause. Seeing this kind of support reminds me that this is entirely your movement now. It means the world to see you all come together like this.

As it stands, I have a 2.33, C; 0.17 away from receiving a B. Thanks to the various assignments that are weighed as 7, 9, 13 and even 23 grades, it has been IMPOSSIBLE to bump up my grade, regardless of all of the 'A's' that I receive. With the removal of this rule, my grade will be at a high B.
Because of the Anderson rule, my grade remains 0.03 underneath a B. All because of one 23 grade assignment. I support the removal of this rule.
The Anderson rule is not helping students it is only sinking their grades and is a harsh concept to utilize, in my opinion.
Ok ok ok ok, veo lo que está diciendo, pero como esta regla es un poco demasiado
Very true
As a student of this course I believe it is rigorous enough. An implemented rule should not hinder a student from recieving an acceptable in the course. Therefore, this rule should be removed for the benefit of the students grade.
A grade should not be determined on one assignment.

I don't have anything against Mr. Prohias but the truth is that this style of grading is unfair to student who are currently taking all honors and multiple AP classes. The amount of stress we are under going is unfair and causing for more concern.
