DA, only ever from the privileged perspective. Keeps on raising rates have done next to zero maintenence in lesser privileged areas. Waiting 16 years since writing for our roads to be upgraded in our area. 2 years for two boxes installed on our pavement outside our house, and nothing is done to our white neighbour who's taken in our servitude Lane, installed a dish on my roof, and has an issue with the Athaan from the local Mosque. Cape Town is SA'so little Tel Aviv, where the privilege settlers with dual residence are of main priority with better service delivery than the locals. Why else is low cost housing not prioritised for the poor but provincial land is sold off to groups with foreign ties and interests

They could at least offer the free units to those that received before, electricity has become ridiculously expensive

Tariffs has to drop as this is ridiculous. Why must we pay so much for electricity and samoras people get power for free

CoCT should sharpen their pencils, come down to grassroots level and listen. Not listen to talk, but listen to understand that this isn't a one size fits all scenario which can be candy-coated with standardised answers to a multiple challenges within the tariffs rough-shodded on the citizens of the province. Instead of having a one size fits all approach to complaints and desperate pleas from their citizens CoCT will harness a lot of goodwill if they show they actually care for, and listen to, citizens who vote to keep them in those warm seats of provincial government. How about setting up a helpsite online and a physical queue somewhere where citizens can be heard, and responded to, with solutions instead of making citizens one size fits all dummies. Show you have the will. Be fair. Be flexible within some broader guidelines. How ridiculous for instance that someone who rents from a landlord should be penalised with subtracting money owed to CoCT from electricity units. That's like stealing. 2019 is approaching. I'd think about that if I was CoCT.

I'm a pensioner+live on SASSA pension+stl hav 2pay 4 water+refuse removal. Because of the aerea I live in I hav 2 kp my yard+front lights on til a certain time. I am disabled+live alone+inherited the house from my L8 parents. From my pension I mus buy my food+buy certain medications as the hsptl don't hav stock the meds that I hav 2 take 4 my desease+aso my High Blood

Daylight robbery, while we wait for them to do something about the water shortages they thought it good to hike electricity tarrifs. the consumer is suffering!!!!

The increase of electricity is to much and we have no choice but to purchase. It must fall.

Electricity tariffs are ridiculous to say the least. Every year inflation occurs yes, but 100% increase is definitely not cool. The more you earn the more the taxes yet people get free housing and we need to work even harder just to keep our head above water, and even the water prices increase too...go figure.

Im just as agrieved. Single mother who bearly gets by. My property is valuated yearly by city out of there own. I didnt ask for it and they dont care how one gets by. I managed to adhere and do my bit in saving because of loadsheddings back then now it seems we being punished. Y not look at those stealing electricity or those top notch managers whom we must support now. Just coz i stay where i do doesnt mean im rich. It means i work hard
