The price of electricity is too high there is alot of people that can't come with the prices of electricity coz it's too expensive... 3units for R20 it's not even enough for the whole day.

Yes, I do agree that it is our basic right to have access to affordable electricity. What I need to understand is why, when you have a prepaid meter, you are still being billed a huge amount, separately to buying your prepaid power from Eskom. How is it that municipality of Drakenstein can allow this while residng in the City of Cape Town this does not seem to be the case? Yes, I understand there is a levy for "rental" but does it have to amount to a full month's electricity usage, basically crippling many households?

I just can't deal anymore. How d hell do i spend R300 on electricity pw . I dont even want use my stove anymore. Use my gas burner on a daily basis. 1 fridge, deep freezer off for more den a year. Why cus i can't affort to fill up d freezer cus i must spend money on electricity. I'm a single mother unemployed, with 2 boys 7 and 12 years old. Come on the city of cape town look after ur people. We already dont have money to feed our family. But ja its our choice to live here.
