It's just ridiculous that we have to pay so much for electricity

This madness needs to come to an end. Unfairness with regards to tariff rates is a huge problem, irrespective of property valuation. People are struggling just to keep their heads above water during this pandemic, instead of alleviating the pressure, Coct only piles on more with this increases and unnecessary charges. And to top it all, we must still pay VAT on everything, as if we not crippled enough.

We are all drowning..... As a single parent and just running a small business I don't have enough to feed my 4 kids my money basically just goes for electricity...thinking about electricity gives me anxiety..... It's ridiculous R150 per day and it's just the fridge and plugs we use..... I have installed a speed heat shower, gas stove and gas heater and still we use the same amount of electricity how is that even possible

I support this cause as the city of Cape town don't care if the middle class people have to sit in the dark as we are being crippled trying to keep the lights on

Tariffs must fall we can't go on like this we the poor and middle class pay high tariffs,I called the city to inquire about my tariff there answer is cause my house is valued at over R450,000 so that's y I'm on domestic tariff and not on lifeline,I use less that 250 units a month cause I have to save,I'm gatvol of this city

Those who live in rental accommodation suffers the most

It is such a struggle each and everyday. Keeping up with feeding my family and keeping the lights on. Electricity is ridiculously expensive! I just can't keep up anymore. Borrowing electricity money every month has become a pain for my family.

Remove vat and levy
