We the undersigned electors of the City of Kingston request Kingston City Council place a referendum question on the 2014 municipal election ballot. We ask you to allow voters to choose whether members of council should be elected by district or by city-wide representation. This would allow Kingston voters to exercise their democratic franchise for the following reasons: enhanced accountability, improved representation, unique needs of each neighbourhood, and greater access to elected councillors. As the initiator of this petition, my name is Joe Hawkins and I can be contacted at, 607 MacDonnell St, Kingston ON, K7K4X2, for further information in relation to this matter.

Please add your full address in the petition comments section to verify that you are a Kingston, Ontario resident. Please also include you postal code in the appropriate box when signing.
