Keep Elbel for Everyone

Please keep the park for South Bend citizens to enjoy for generations to come! Preserve public access in perpetuity.

Park land can never be replaced once it is designated for development or private enterprise. Please consider letting the public have a say in how this land will be protected!

If they sell parks that dont make a profit, what will be left.

Certainly a treasure to keep for the public. Recent attention could bring more of us out to enjoy and learn. All the better if we bike there!

Regarding the sale of ELBEL: the decision must be make through an open and participatory process regarding what city residents desire for the 313 acres of park land. Also, please consider alternatives for the sale, such as a land trust, to preserve public access to Elbel Park in perpetuity

We NEED to preserve natural areas!

We need to save all the open, beautiful spaces we have left. They are good for the air, for the environment and for our souls.

Interested to know how much money they make in a year. Not what they lost.

The ecological services provided by high quality natural communities such as Elbel Park are invaluable economically, culturally, biologically, historically and spiritually. Save money, protect regional health, and help ensure South Bend's sustainable future by preserving Elbel Park in a natural state for all to enjoy.

Every little bit of remaining native ecosystem is precious... it keeps our planet healthy. We can't afford to keep destroying our water and air filters anywhere, especially near our cities.

Please keep this golf course!! I have been golfing at Elbel for 36 yrs. Not only do I enjoy it as a fine golf course but absolutely love the various forms of wildlife I get to see early morning and in the evenings.

High quality natural areas are to be protected and saved for our children.

I have great memories spending time at Elbel as a child. Please help preserve this beautiful land for generations to come.

Land and space for nature is worth more than more land and space for yet more houses, but unfortunately our market-based system does not compute values of such in same manner. Developers will typically win, at the expense of nature...

I've played Elbel many times in the past and been witness to deer and wild birds. Save this for our kids.

As a St. Joseph County resident and a member of a number of environmental groups, I respectfully urge the council to take measures to ensure that one of the last remaining quality natural areas in St. Joseph County is not impacted by development. Here is a portion of "the real Indiana." Once this is destroyed, we cannot recreate it.

I hope the city can find a way to keep this beautiful piece of property as a public access spot to connect to nature. We all need nature! Let's work together to find a way to keep it as part of the City of South Bend.

Elbel is a PARK. Please don't sell off our park space; protect it as a place to connect with nature!!
