As workers, students, trainees, and researchers at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore, we desire to study and work at an institution that treats its members in a fair and just manner. In recent months Montefiore has expected its employees to maintain their prior level of productivity during an active pandemic that threatens both their safety and that of their families. These increased expectations have not corresponded with an acceptable increase in salary or benefits. Therefore, we wish to express our support for and solidarity with the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) nurses who recently went on strike for safe working conditions on the front lines of the pandemic. Additionally, we wish to express our solidarity with SEIU1199 workers who are negotiating for a fair contract with Montefiore. We recognize the vital role played by members of SEIU and NYSNA, affirm their right to collective bargaining, and call on Montefiore to negotiate in good faith.

The administration is finally noticing how much pressure we are applying together. Take a screenshot of this petition and post it to your Facebook page right now. Send an email to the Montefiore board members demanding they return to the bargaining table.

Safe working conditions should not even be a question. so ridiculous that it has to come to this.
Nurses and staff deserve way better than this. Keep fighting.
It is gross how the hospital treats the staff. stand with 1199 and nysna all the way.
THEY ARE LITERALLY RISKING THEIR LIVES FOR US EVERY SINGLE DAY. PAY UP.
The people doing the real work here are being treated like total garbage. Pay them what they are owed montefiore.
This campus would be nothing without our staff!
