We the undersigned petition the East Haddam Board of Finance to keep intact the $17,835,718 Board of Education budget originally presented to the residents of East Haddam, thereby negating the need to make cuts to current or proposed programs for the 2008-2009 year for the following reasons: · The original budget went through a very extensive process, including a thorough and detailed review by each school administrator, the Superintendent, the Board of Education Finance sub committee, the full Board of Education, the Board of Finance liaison, and finally the Board of Finance as a whole. By the end of this process only 1 person voted against the budget. · The loss of personnel including teachers and paraprofessionals will have a negative effect on all students. Lack of appropriate world language, gifted and talented and technology programs will decrease our studentsâ
