The Egyptian democracy demonstrators have said the endemic corruption by their government in one of main factors in their revolt. During a period of turmoil, such as this, it is common for profiteers within the state apparatus to plunder money and move it abroad. This petition calls on the British Prime Minister David Cameron to do everything in his power to stop any money taken illicitly from the collapsing Egpytian state being handled by or lodged in British banks.

This petition will be sent to Downing Street when it reaches 10,000 signatures. Please help make that happen as soon as possible.

The stories coming out of Egypt make this fight essential. I am currently coordinating with advocates to ensure this demand reaches the right desks at Downing Street.

The momentum is undeniable now. Downing Street cannot ignore the scale of this pressure much longer.

The people of Egypt fought hard for this money. It belongs to us and our future not to be hidden away in some London bank account by criminals.

Send it back to the Egyptian people where it actually belongs. High time we stop turning a blind eye to where this money comes from.
