EGGSIT - Stop the Sale of Caged Eggs
In Australia we have roughly 12 million battery hens laying eggs 24 hours a day to meet the demand of the supermarkets for cheap eggs. The hens are confined to a life in a cage no bigger than an A4 piece of paper, not even enough room to stretch her wings. In any other scenario this would be classed as animal cruelty, but this is covered by the 'Australian Code of Practice.' Battery chicken farms have been outlawed in ALL 27 of the European Union countries, but it is still OK to treat these poor animals like this in Australia? When did Australia stop caring about our animals? When did Australia stop fighting for what is right? I intend to use this petition to get the Sutherland Shire supermarkets battery egg free and then move upwards, with all of your help and make a difference to these poor animals lives. Thank you for your support.
