we can only hope that once we all see the magnitude of the feeling on this issue then the change will be made for the good of all of us whether we attend a private school or not.

This issue is very depressing...Education is the one thing I can try to provide the best of for my kids .this will enable them to be better citizens.Choice of a private school does not mean the cash is "picked up"...and more so along with all the other increases how are our young generation going to be the future. I am a single parent and this feels like a punishment .Also I can clearly see the person's who sat around a table to plan this certainly like so many other new taxes has once again proven to be "unintelligent". Here it is we can have a lot more young people with broken dreams and a country overflowing with more crime.

When private students does well the country looks good so their shouldn't be discrimination on how they are educated and all those gift's from the government should not be accepted now when they make them look good as a citizen of that country at that moment in time and forgotten when they were at their foundation stage struggling to pay vat that the government refuses to waver

Damn straight...how can you build a nation when you make the one thing that significantly molds youth out of their reach

Education is an asset for any country. Whether it is private or public, the same time and resources are needed for students to excel. When you choose to go private for your kids, it is because you trust that your kids will be safe and that teachers will help to groom your kids for the world and all the challenges they will face in the adult world. It is a sacrifice for parents. It is money already invested in the country indirectly as the government would not have to provide the resources for these kids. In fact, the government can subsidize for parents who would want that for their kids. They should not want to place a tax on any educational institutions or the resources such as books, etc.

burnham gave education free from nursery to university. It is a shame that his party is now taxing what he gave freely.

How can you expect the country to progress by taxing the progression of its people

This move by the government is counterproductive and against what LFSB wanted for Guyana
