Parents have a choice yes but all parents want the best for their children. Many are sacrificing alot because the Public schools seem to be failing our children. What are we saying to our future generation? Why not reduce all the benefits the Ministers get or better yet PUT 14%Vat on all the allowances. Persons will just keep leaving this country. Nobody would want to come back here and build this country.

This has to be removed...simply because, from my personal opinion I have two children in a private primary school, I had to do a transfer and make SACRIFICES to pay school fees because the public school that is FREE is no good, and apart from the educational aspects, my son was harmed by another student with a scissors, where the child stab my son with that. That day..oh that day was terror and it plays in my head ever so often of how I could have gone to see my son dead! Drastic measure had to be implemented immediately and we have stopped going for ice cream or even to the movies to make this happen...now tell me Mr. President! ! What am I supposed to do?

Speechless to this situation at this time. Hopeful for Guyana now, this is not humane, find other means to raise revenue. There will be tears and tearless cry throughout our society.

The government needs to understand that parents have to struggle to make ends meet. This will just add to the struggle. We understand that the minister needs to broaden the scope to reduce vat, do not make the mistake and place it on a system that will do more harm than good.

Education should not be taxed!! Many government schools dont have the necessary facilities to accomidate sound learning forcing parents to send their children to private lessons to make up for public school downfalls.

VAT on education is ridiculous. Burnham saw the need for free education in this nation, Now to have his party tax education is a disgrace to his legacy.

Its definitely a necessity for the child's future. Many psrents are cutting corners (making sacrifices) to make it possible for their children education. So why the additional burden.
