The concern many of us have with this course is that the skills covered are too simplistic, especially for a master's level course. The assignments include: Taking a screenshot, navigating an operating system (such as Windows or OSX) performing internet searches, performing basic research, formatting an APA document using Microsoft Word, and creating a PowerPoint presentation.

While these skills are incredibly beneficial, a vast majority of master's students enter their specific programs with these skills already mastered. This petition calls for either the refinement of the course, ETE 501, Technology Strand, or an option for future students to test out. As all college students are well aware, the cost of education is great. Please support future students/educators in this cause.
