E.D Mnangagwa has no legitimacy as president of Zimbabwe and this is why.

1. The use of vote buying techniques through the use of food and other implements that were distributed particularly to rural populations on condition of voting for E.D.

2. Unfair access to state media by the opposition.

3. The post voting massacre of civilians by an armed military. Six people reportedly died. Many were injured. The army commander in chief bares a huge responsibility in ordering the massacre and should be investigated for the crimes against humanity.

4. The delay in announcing the presidential vote created an irreparable loss of credibility that can only be remedied by a clean and fresh election redo.

5. The voters roll was not made available in good time for proper inspection.

6. The ballot paper was kept a top secret and reportedly poorly printed making it difficult for voters to clearly identify their choice.

7. The ZEC officials were not impartial in several instances, for example, they reported Chamisa to police for an offense that E.D also committed but they refused to name if they had reported E.D. This is evidence of clear double standards by ZEC, which is supposed to be impartial.

8. There were too many complaints against ZEC that were raised by stakeholders, but much of the issues were not addressed.

Conclusion:

The whole election was thus a sham and it must be redone. Therefore E.D Mnangagwa has no legitimacy as president and is not the true representative of the will of the people. Zimbabwe therefore has no current legitimate government.

Recommendations:

A. ZEC must be replaced with a UN backed impartial International Tribunal.

B. Fresh free and fair elections should be held at the earliest convenience to the people of Zimbabwe.

C. All parties must have equal access to the media to ensure a level playing field.

D. All vote buying should be outlawed.

E. The Zimbabwe Military and police should come under command of the U.N before and during elections, to ensure they do not interfere with a civilian election and to avoid another massacre.

F. Election results should be announced in a timely manner that does not create despondency and fatigue.

G. International election observers must be allowed.
