ECONOMIC BOYCOTT!!!

Brothers and Sisters I call to you today and ask for you to stand with me in a pursuit to be heard. We’ve tried protesting, and though it’s a great gesture, it’s not loud enough. Now I believe we must show we have strength in other areas. Our dollars, as a whole, holds so much power in this economy and we can control where it goes.

With that being said, all I’m asking, for now, is to up an account with OneUnited Bank, which is the first black internet bank and the largest black owned bank in the country. If you already have a banking account I’m not asking you to close it, I’m asking that you move at least $50 into an account, if not more. If you don’t want to open an account with OneUnited but want to support another black owned bank, then that’s also encourage.

My goal is to make this a trending topic, preferably on July 28th, which was the same day in 1868 the 14th Amendment was ratified to grant citizenship to “all persons born or naturalized in the United States. The trending hashtag will be #BlackOwnedBankAccountHolder , to let the big corporations, the government, the businesses and people who don’t support the lives of our people, know that we stand together.
