The 4-Mile Creek HOA approves the use of toxic herbicides in the landscaping of the common areas, walkways and grass parkways. On 4/22 (yes, Earth Day), an herbicide called Pre-M was applied and left a yellow residue and strong chemical smell noticed by many residents. The warning associated with this herbicide is to avoid contact with skin and to not inhale, but the health of dogs and children, not to mention birds, bees, cats and other animals, as well as all 4-Mile Creek residents is potentially endangered by the use of this toxic herbicide and others applied by the landscaping crew. Plus, these chemicals are running into streams and ground water. Many 4-Mile Creek residents strive to avoid these herbicides, only to be exposed to them in the landscaped common areas.
If you would like the 4-Mile Creek landscaping to require the use of only ecologically safe landscaping services and products, or, to require permission from residents for the application of an herbicide, if deemed necessary, then please sign this petition.
I strongly recommend using the non-toxic weed control product provided by Organa Lawn (a Boulder company). They do an excellent job and their products are very effective!
