The Board of Education finally stopped wasting time and gave us the green light to decorate our caps. This win belongs to everyone who refused to let the administration silence our individuality. Go ahead and get creative because we earned this.

If you don't necessarily plan on taking advantage of this opportunity, but still believe the option should be given to students, please sign this as well.
Decorating graduation caps is a common college tradition that has been adopted by many high schools around the country. Before graduation students purchase caps & gowns and are then told to not alter them in any way prior to the event. Allowing students to decorate their caps is a simple way of giving the students the opportunity to express themselves before they graduate. Expressing individuality and standing as a united grade, the personalization of graduation caps will add to the spirit of graduation. Common decorations include future plans, reflections of high school, meaningful quotes, initials, personal anecdotes, and tons of personality.
The Principal of EBHS has agreed to look into this proposition and bring it up to the Board of Education. This petition will only help if this is something you would like to see at graduation.

We just hit 250 signatures and the administration can no longer ignore this. It is ridiculous that EBHS forces us to look like carbon copies instead of celebrating our individuality. Keep pushing until the Board of Education hears us loud and clear.

I don;t know why we aren't allowed to do this. We pay for our caps and we should be able to decorate them. It adds a personl touch and makes graduation day *that* much more special.
Personally, I'm not interested in decorating my cap for graduation, but anyone who wants to should be given the opportunity :) After high school, we diverge and become our own persons, embrace our individuality, and find who we truly are. Graduation should mark that transition and, thus, should be reflected on every students' cap, the cap they toss symbolizing they've done it. They've completed high school.
Whoever that does not want to decorate their hat shouldn't have to; but for us students who want to express ourselves, our past or our future school on our cap that WE pay for; it should be allowed.
I tried to start this motion last year and was turned down with little to no reason or support behind the administrators' answer. As long as nothing obscene or irresponsible is put on graduation caps, seniors deserve the right to do this thing that almost every other highschool is allowed to do across America.
This is our way of expressing ourselves one last time before walking on the stage. Whether it's a quote or what college we will be attending, it should be allowed because it is what identifies us from the 700+ students in our graduating class
WHY DOES THIS SCHOOL HAVE SO MANY RESTRICTIONS ON HOW AN INDIVIDUAL EXPRESES THEMSELVES. YOU ARENT THAT GREAT OF A SCHOOL LET THEM DECORATE THERE CAPS

This encourages creativity, self-expression, and motivates seniors to put in some extra effort even in the last few days of high school!
