Crippling fees

I agree that the fees eBay charge are absolutely way too high! I had to pay $16 transaction fees on top of a $15 add fee for selling an item for $115 plus $9.99 shipping. My total profit I received was only $83 after everything! Make it make sense!!!

13% is way too high of a seller fee.

I have to sell local on Offer Up, Craigslist & Facebook Marketplace because I know the amount of money it costs to sell something online has become absolutely ridiculous. Also, the tax laws have become intrusive as well. Everything is now double taxed basically, even your tax return is going to be starting this year by like 10%. Buyers don't want to pay shipping, so they expect individual sellers or small businesses to eat up the cost, but in reality, it's sucks for both buyers & sellers because of PayPal & shipping costs. I don't know why people keep using PayPal or put up with shipping costs because they've become a monopoly that protects businesses that they make a lot of money through, so unless you're willing to get robbed, then I find it better to deal with your local low ballers than to deal with greedy companies that are taking over the world. I'm starting to find solace in buying local, but they never have what you want in stock. You always have to pre-order everything now, & that forces people to buy online. Everything is becoming cheaply made & automated, so it's hard to resell anything, & not without practically giving it away. I've learned that buying local made products & products not imported in from cheap countries is going to be the route that a lot of people are going to start taking due to how awful the economy is after Covid. Don't let China make a comeback or governments to continue outsourcing everything. Let it all rot & wither away~

Since you started this petition, fees have gone up substantially and the situation is way, way worse. Let's face it. Greedy corporate Executives at eBay are slowly changing the platform from a everyday person consumer buying and selling platform to a platform where medium-to-large sized retailers sell their goods.

Ridiculous, Ridiculous,Ridiculous. These companies have gone way too far. I just spent 30 min with customer service explaining to me how on something I sell for £30 they charge me £11 on base price £62. I asked 3 people in customer service how they came up with this base price of £62 and none of them have a reasonable explanation why. Also they put VAT charged on me by the seller, something that usually the person who is buying has to pay. Why is this on my fees? They say because they cannot take the money from the buyer. Is simple that when there is money there is a door to take it. If they want to charge VAT they should add this when the buyer pays after the total to the seller. Ridiculous. I am shocked how none complain about this. I wish there were alternatives on eBay. We had enough for so many years. no wonder why they make 20 billions almost every quarter.

ebay is nothing short of an extorsion racket. it also flaunts trade and standards law as it advertises seller protection, when in truth , it dosnt realy exist or excersise any seller protection. its a law unto it's self, and government don't seem to care because its a giant corporation and a bank. need I say more ? fascist/neo-feudal in ideology

Their fees need to be reduced. It is ridiculous for smaller sellers.

Absolute outrage! eBay charging 10% of your final sale value , + listing fees + eBay owned PayPal taking 3+% makes it nearly impossible for small sellers to stay viable. And even more ludicrous is they take 10% of what you charge for SHIPPING! It's absolutely robbery. We need to make noise and stop this from happening. I suggest sellers STOP using EBay and find other online sites, of which there are plenty. Buy from Amazon and other sites as well. Simply don't give EBay ANY of your business!!
