It's obvious when looking at a map of east Lee County that Alva and NE area of Lee County have been neglected in regard to high school representation. Our children need a school within their community.
Growing up I wished the old Alva high school was still open so I didn't have to to go to Riverdale. There is an Alva elementary and middle school so why not a high school; there used to be back in the day. Bring it back because it will be good for the community.
I am a lifelong resident of Alva and I support the new High school as long as the curriculum includes 4-H, Agricultural, and Environmental science.
It is prudent fiscal policy to utilize the land that is already owned, especially in an area that is experiencing such rapid growth.
An East Zone high school here is best for ecological, agricultural and water quality studies. It is also the most fiscally prudent choice at this time.
I believe every child should have a neighborhood school so hours are not wasted on buses

My daughter goes to the Alva school and my son in a school all the way across town....would be great to have them closer to each other
