I have my doubts that the city council can really do anything (or would, if they actually could), but the King Soopers is ridiculously crowded these days. Sometimes it’s impossible to find a parking spot.
That Safeway was very poorly managed. It’s not the location, it was the company. A decently managed store would do well there.

I have lived on the east side of Longmont for 28 years, long before the building explosion and any businesses in this area. I love King Soopers but it is always crowded and I would love another option in the area. A church in a retail space? No thank you, I don't see this helping out our neighborhood at all.

Trader Joe’s or any kind of grocery store is more important than another church!

While I no longer live on this side of town, it is important for all Longmont residents to have access to affordable, yet high quality grocery stores. Also, for every month the storefront sits open, Longmont loses vital income.

With the growth and expansion in Longmont, allowing a church to fill the old Safeway space would be a mistake. The single store in this area cannot support the growth East Longmont is showing. The remaining businesses in this shopping plaza would suffer due to lack of parking for their customers. That space needs a Tax paying occupant in that space.

The east side of longmont is underserved in a number of ways but with only a single grocer to service a large population nobody wins. The business's in the fox creek shopping center are struggling and have seen large losses of customers and profit in the 15 months since safeway has left. Something needs to be done!

Please do not do this. I just walked over to the old FATE brewing and the coffee shop in Lafayette. One closed, the other a ghost town. Complex was dead.
I moved from Lafayette because there were was way too much traffic caused by Flatirons Church. And really rude drivers. This part of town already has a big Jehovah witness church. People complain about that enough.
We need revenue, not traffic.
I think Frederick would be a better fit, wink wink...

Would love to see a Trader Joe's. Sprouts would work, too, but I'd rather have TJ's.

Please help east Longmont flourish. A church is not a good fit for this retail space! A grocer is the right fit and desperately needed.

PLEASE! We desperately need another grocery! I’m sure King Soopers is loving the extra business, but there’s way too many people in the area for 1 grocery store. We DO NOT NEED ANOTHER CHURCH.

East Longmont needs another grocer in the old Safeway space. Small businesses near there are suffering and the other grocery store is always so busy and they can’t keep up with demand! We need another grocer!!!
