Vote NO on the Barnwell redistricting plan!

the Fulton Schools planning committee is making decisions based on agenda, NOT redistricting criteria. What they are doing is wrong. If the board votes in favor of this map, they are voting against a fair process and DARING you to try to do something about it. If they vote yes on this map, we MUST got to the polls and vote them out.

Do not redistrict us out of the only johns creek school we are in. We pay taxes to JC and we are part of that community.

Just gives them a reason to build newer schools

I moved to this neighborhood (John's Creek) because of the schools. I chose my house in Bridgewater because of Barnwell. Barnwell is where I want my daughter to attend school. If this changes...I will move to East Cobb and Cobb County will collect my tax dollars instead. I know the schools over in East Cobb are solid and will not change. Do the right thing Fulton County - keep things the way they are - DO NOT REZONE our schools.

I just moved to this school zone a little more than a year ago, BECAUSE of the schools. This move would disrupt the cohesion of the entire community and negatively affect the home values. Please keep East Brumbelow at Barnwell!

During the 2nd Rezoning meeting that took place on December 3rd, a current draft plan was presented. The plan was based on Primary Criteria consisting of Georgaphic Proximity, Instrusctional Capacity, and Projected Enrollment. The current Barnwell ES enrollment for 2015-16 is 767, projected is 749 for 2016-17, 718 for 2017-18, and 701 for 2018-19. In summary if we did not participate in this rezoning to date, Barnwells participation would automatically drop. My question is why are we even moving one student out of Barnwell, not yet our entire neighborhood? Secondly, if we participate in this rezoning the numbers drop even more dramatically - in 2016-17 the enrollment goes down to 701, 2017-18 the enrollment goes down to 681 and in 2018-19 the enrollment goes down to 661. If our neighborhood does not participate in the rezoning Barnwell's enrollment will DECREASE BY 66 STUDENTS BY 2019 and will actually have 2 EMPTY CLASSROOMS. If our neighorhood participates in the rezoning Barnwell's enrollment will DECREASE BY 107 STUDENTS BY 2019 and will actually have 3 EMPTY CLASSROOMS. Why would the school board move our neighborhood out of Barnwell which clearly has capacity for growth?

The traffic situation on Brumbelow is not good and it will be made way more difficult busing the kids to Hillside through the private school areas. Also all of the kids on Brumbelow should go to the same school as many of them know each other and it is not fair to separate the nearby kids making them go to different schools

We are so disappointed to see that this is even being considered. The overwhelming selling point of our neighborhood was the fact we are mapped to Barnwell. The redistricting of the elementary school means that our homes values will be adversely affected. This is so unfair as so many of our young families paid a premium to be in Bridgewater for the access to Barnwell. We are listing our house in the Spring, and this will also adversely affect our value. This should not happen, given the very high taxes we have to pay already.

The proposed plan disrupts several neighborhood groupings and undermines the cohesion of our Johns Creek Community.

Decision negatively impacts too many of us in The Ridge neighborhood - in many ways.

Let me reinforce that the only reason I moved to The Ridge community on Brumbelow Rd. is so that my kids could go to Barnwell Elementary and receive a quality education. This was the very reason I spent more on my house and now you want to redistrict our neighborhood. Absolutely ridiculous especially when I think about some our neighbors, who already have kids in the Barnwell school, that will be forced out in the 4th and 5th grade ahead of middle school.

I am not sure who in Hillside that they need to benefit to the extent that they are causing this much disturbance and heartache to everyone. There is a limit to politics of fulton county schools. We belong to a school in the next street and we are being asked to go to a school a good bit away. This is not political redistricting. This will have local and daily consequences on people and we will not accept this.

It does not makes sense that one neighborhood goes to one school and the other one geos to another. We have been living here for almost 10 years. I am not sure what motivations are causing this. But this is seriously pitting one neighbor against the other. We expect to stay in Barnwell and we will not accept this change to move us to a school that is far off.

We purchased our home with Barnwell being the elementary school and have lived here for 18 years. We have kids in the neighborhood "The Ridge" that just do not need to be uprooted?

Keep Eagle Glen at Barnwell!

Do not redistrict!! Is unfair to the children and the neighbors and it makes no sense that one neighborhood would go to one school and the one right beside it will go to another school!! It's unfair on all accounts and not sure how you could justify the proposal. It appears to be unequal treatment of like neighbors with differentiated treatment!!! Unbelievable

There is a significant amount of parent involvement from the impacted neighborhoods. We have a history of serving in key PTA leadership positions, helping to chair school events, volunteering in the classroom as room parents, and connecting the school to businesses in the community. The loss of these families that have significantly invested in Barnwell will leave a void in the school that may take years to fill. The proposed plan disrupts several neighborhood groupings and undermines the cohesion of our Johns Creek Community. For example, Queensbury will still attend Barnwell but the other neighborhoods on Brumbelow will be redistricted. This separates kids who live next to each other and will ultimately attend middle school together.
