I have been riding Pleasanton Ridge, Briones, Mount Diablo, Castro - Valley for over 25 years and have never witnessed the amount of hikers, Mountain Biker's and Equestrians using these parks concurrently. I have also attended many meetings, and spoke in front of city council members. That being said, we find ourselves at a very critical juncture; if something isn't done QUICKLY, there will be more and more trail conflicts, and it will soon erupt into social chaos in the beautiful parks that we actually pay to use. The current system (or lack thereof) is dangerous and unworkable. Currently there is hiking trails, equestrian trails specific to those groups only, and no mountain bike trails. This is a clear example of blatant discrimination. I will continue to fight for what is right however; at the current pace of accomplishing anything, I fear at the end of the day, we will continue to do what we do, and they (EBRP) will continue to do what they do.

Class 1 - E mountain bikes are no different than any regular mountain bike. The weight difference may be up to 25 pounds. But the rider could weigh a lot more or a lot less. This was the same phobia that was seen when Snowboarding was gaining popularity. E mountain bikes are going to be the next phase of what we saw similar to snowboarding. Most E mountain bikes are completely sold out and are in very very high demand.

Please open the singletrack trails to bike riders. Last weekend, we met with a park ranger who reminded us that we have to ride in the fire roads only. But thats where most of the families with little kids and strollers are. The singletracks we're empty and actually safer for riders to use. Please open the singletracks trails so we have options for safer routes. We can install bike bells to alert other trail users as well.

I ride both a mountain bike and an electric mountain bike in the East bay regularly as of about two years ago. I greatly appreciate the exercise and stress relief it affords me. I would very much appreciate more mountain bike trails!

We all need access to Our public lands. Stop making us criminals when we want to reduce stress and get some exercise.

More mountain bike trails are needed in the East Bay and should include access for class 1 ebikes.
