We the undersigned request that the Christchurch City Council relocate and mount the Medway St footbridge as a lasting seismic sculpture in a readily accessible location where it will serve as a reminder of the 7.1 earthquake that struck Christchurch City on the 4th September at 4:35am. We believe that the bridge is a perfect and lasting reminder of just how powerful the earthquake was and should be preserved for current and future generations to reflect upon.
