We the people of the Gellibrand electorate, urge the Australian Federal Government to make immediate, binding and stringent legislation to dramatically reduce Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions by more than 25% below 2000 levels by 2020 – for the benefit of future Australians. The immediate cost of this action does not compare with the future price that we will all bear if we do not radically alter our behaviour and lifestyles now. Regardless of a global agreement, the Australian Government needs to take decisive action. We call upon the Government to lead in the international movement for a strong and effective climate response. We commend action already taken by the Government on climate change and are hopeful of the human capacity to bring about change together. Signed
