Small recreational fires harm no one and should be allowed ass long as other ordinances (noise, etc) are being obeyed.

After spending 20 plus years on a neighboring Fire Department; I cant remember being called to a fire that was a legit recreational fire. Yes there were calls; but burning leaves or burning large brush piles were usually the reason for the response.
Enforcement of a curfew during the midnight hour means we would be taking time away from our Law Enforcement patrol efforts.
As a former Asst. Chief; I know that the City of Eagan is a member of the Dakota County Fire Chiefs Assn. They are one of twelve Fire departments including Apple Valley, Burnsville ,Farmington, Hastings, Inver Grove Heights, Lakeville, Mendota Heights, Northfield, Randolph-Hampton, Rosemount, and South Metro Fire. I suggest staff contact our fellow member departments and see if this issue is even worthy of discussion.

There are already too many unnecessary rules/restrictions on citizens. Please do not add another.

I am against this language. We don't have bonfires often, but if it is on my (our) property I don't think others should dictate when the flames need to be extinguished.

Definitely against the time restrictions. My neighbors have fires all the time and you cant smell them what so ever in my house.
