The EAAB (Estate Agency Affairs Board) is charging all Principal and Full Status agents in South Africa, R2500 and R2000 respectively to take part in a compulsory training process, which they will present by means of "Road Shows".

Apart from the fact that they will not be able to present these shows in sufficient places for agents all over the country to attend, they will not have enough time to present them. They will have to hold about 5 workshops per day to serve every role player, and according to their website, they will only start in May!!.
There are probably at least 20 000 full status agents, and 2 000 principals, which would give the EAAB about R45 million to spend on venues, flight tickets, hotel accommodation, and expensive meals and drinks, for those officials who present such a "show". These very officials are then also absent from their offices for days on end, causing further delays in their already delayed work schedules.
This is just another scam to drain the already heavily taxed and burdened real estate role players. To attend these Road Shows, means being away from the office, and for a very large number, it means travelling great distances, at additional costs and time.
It would be far more effective to relay the information given on the road shows, by internet, and it would mean that every person will be able to receive that information.p-We are now in the 21st century, and the internet is being used all over the world in training and education. The EAAB should catch up with this concept.
By signing this petition, we are demanding that the fees mentioned above be scrapped, and that the Road Shows be scrapped to make place for Internet Training and Education.
