There has been an ongoing safety problem at the cross walk located at Dutch Village Rd & Central Ave in Fairview. This cross walk is located on a busy thoroughfare, across the street from The Children's Garden Daycare Centre and a block away from Burton Ettinger School. There are no lights or hanging signs over this cross walk to make sure drivers can clearly identify that there is a cross walk located here. To add to the issue, Halifax drivers have recently started using, what is a single lane of traffic, as a dual lane. I have personally witnessed several people almost struck while crossing here and have almost been hit several times myself at this cross walk. I want to see a flashing light and signs placed here ensure pedestrian safety. Please join me in signing my petition to ensure that this happens.
