I want to create "Duster's Law" on a federal level. Named after my son, Dustin Christian's, nickname. Law Enforcement will be required to drug test on the spot if they suspect someone is under the influence of drugs. If they test positive for an opiate they will need to be taken to a hospital for observation, not to jail or juvenile hall. My son's life could have been saved if we had a law like this. The Ventura County Sheriff Dept. were at my house the day before my son's death. They were there because the school called child protective services on his father. My mom was home and she is witness that they said he didn't look like himself. They knew my son. I believe they knew he was under the influence. He was on probation for narcotics and had just gotten off house arrest. He went to bed early before I had gotten home from work. I went to wake him up from school. He had passed in his sleep. He died of a Fentanyl Drug Patch Drug Overdose. He was three weeks shy of turning 18 and three months shy of graduating high school.

Lost a friend to the same thing last year. Systems broken. Needs to change now.
THEY SHOULD HAVE HELPED HIM. Breaks my heart knowing they saw him and did nothing. Justice for Duster.
My heart breaks for you. Sending so much love and prayers your way. No parent should have to bury their child.

This is so overdue. Police need better training on how to handle these situations instead of just locking kids away. RIP Dustin.
