Please rethink discontinuation of this course. Future workers can only benefit from a rigorous high quality Durham education as they critically grapple with the ambiguity inherent in Social Work practice and increase the effectiveness and profile of this global discipline.

This is one of the best Unis in the UK and delivers first class SW programmes. This is v bad news for social work education, social work service users and is another attach on robust, high quality HEI led education for social workers.

We need the students to complete there course because the students learn alot from the parents at Family's in care and they get to see and hear everything first hand which will help them become better social workers plus they come to all the big meetings we have and they get an insight of what lies ahead for them. So please don't close the course down as we won't let you we will do everything we can to stop it because those students don't deserve to loose it as they have put alot of time and effort in to there courses and is would be shocking if it got taken away from them.

This programme is an extremely valuable asset to our community and should not be lost! As a local authority foster carer I have had direct contact with graduate social workers from this programme and am very aware the valuable contribution they make to the vulnerable people in our society!

Please do not disregard an important part of the countries future. We need social workers to help fix what many governments fail to, oppression, discrimination and marginalisation. Who will stand up for these people and fight for their rights? People with the usual psychology degrees? Come on Durham, you're a great Uni, please dont do this.

In solidarity with you. I graduated from Bath but attended a SWAN conference at Durham and was impressed by your students and your commitment to social work values. Good luck.

The students I have work with have helped me a lot since 2000 . The very first student worked with me was Helen she would sit for hours teaching me to communicate with people as I would not talk outside of my family members. So students are much needed for families in care for parents like my self who need extra help at court and other forms of help and support like I did.

This is what we can expect from a Tory government. The working classes are marginalised and forgotten.
