There is always going to be a small percentage of dipsticks who ruin a privilege for the vast majority of people who do the right thing. I agree action needs to be taken to decrease danger and increase safety, especially for those with young children, but a total ban for all recreational vehicle owners who use, enjoy and respect this privilege is an absolute cop out. This closure and all the resources dedicated to patrolling and fining people who use these established tracks is only going to punish those who do the right thing, it will not stop or deter the people who are the cause of the problems. The council, local community and 4wd community need to find another solution. This closure won't solve anything. Cory - age 26

These dunes don't belong to any shire or council they belong to the people who inhibit them being us the recreational 4x4ers, surfers and fisherman

A great shame, by closing a safe place like this they will only be provoking dangerous/illegal driving etc elsewhere

Theres no reason to close this track, there are few places as it is where a family can go and enjoy the outdoors!
