Durban University of Technology Policy to refuse Reissuing Diploma when lost or damaged

Are you aware that when you receive your certificate, that is the last time it gonna be issued to you. Yes that piece of paper you worked hard for many years and when people were asleep, you were up and studying for that piece of paper that can be damaged, lost or stolen at anytime and that would be it. The Durban university of technology doesn't reissue certificate because it in there policy that we have never been told about or informed about. I write this because i'm facing this issue write now. I was involved in a hijacking and unfortunately i had my documents because i had went to certify them in the post office and after the hijacking, i went to DUT to report the matter and they said they will give me a new one and they made me pay R100 for new one but when i came to collect it, i was given some document that state i lost my diploma. Imagine putting that in your CV, even worse it doesnt even come out with acadimic transcript and when i tried to report this issue to the faculty Dean, he doesn't pick up the phone and doesn't reply to emails. I'm even thinking of opening a case in the police station and with your signature i would have credible case against DUT, i think

Seeing this momentum grow has been exhausting but deeply validating. It is clear that I am not the only one left hitting a wall when trying to reclaim what I rightfully earned.

I stand against this DUT new rule. They know very well the level of crime in this country I could loose my qualifications at any given time. As long as I can always reapply for my ID at home affairs, the same should apply with all higher education institutes
What if my house had to burn with my qualifications and not even my fault what's happens then?
This thing is ridiculous, what if someone steals my suitcase with my diploma in it? What if the whole house burn down with my certificate in it? DUT must reissue us with the diploma
It is unjust for DUT not to reissue a certificate when it's lost, this makes it difficult in providing a proof when it's required during the application for a job. They rather make us pay for a reissue, it is highly important to have the document.
DUT should reissue any certificate regarding their courses because these people so hard for do many years to earn these certificates some are owing/paying NSFAS for these certificates but yet they aren't reissued when they are lost. DUT please reissue your students diploma certificates

This policy does not put the students best interest at hand. How do students who have lost their certificates apply for jobs if the University puts an unfavorable policy and prejudices the students.
