An Open Letter To Duran Duran From The Undersigned Citizens Of Second Life Dear Duran Duran-- It's been a year. Where are you One year ago, you made the announcement that you would be establishing a presence and playing a show in the virtual environment known as Second Life. Many of your fans promptly signed up and began exploring this strange new world. Since that announcement, quite a few things have changed, both with Duran Duran and with Second Life itself. But we, the undersigned, sincerely hope that you won't abandon the project completely. While we've been waiting, we've been making our ways in Second Life. We've made friendships, started groups, opened dance clubs and started businesses. We are part of Second Life now. And we want you here. Second Life has been through some shifts during this year. Since the announcement we've seen the advent of sculpted prims and even voice chat. Second Life is still growing, expanding and proving to everyone that it's not a mere fad. It's not too late for you to become a part of it. Establishing a presence in Second Life would open you to a large audience of equally visionary souls. While businesses that deal in tangible goods haven't done very well, artists with a known history of being on the front edge of technology would flourish here. We, the undersigned, ask nothing more than that you fulfill the plans you have already made regarding Second Life. Hold the concert and open the islands to exploration. We're looking forward to it.
