I cannot believe that all the e-shops are selling BT Headphones without big red bold warning that "Playing music (stereo) and using microphone (headset mono) at same time is not possible".

This is pathetic I cant believe this restriction even exists!! Its like they did this on purpose to make money on it later. What a scam. Either make bluetooth good or scrap it for something that does what people want it to do.

Hi, Dee Jay -- The issue isn't having enough channel bandwidth on the physical layer to transmit high-quality audio. We know it's possible because Bluetooth 4.0 (non-LE) supports speeds up to 25 Mbit/s, Bluetooth 5 LE supports speeds up to 2 Mbit/s. So even with the "Low Energy" protocol, there is plenty of bandwidth for even degraded signals to handle four stereo channels, with dynamic quality switching matching signal strength (high signal strength, you could do 320 Kbit/s in each direction; low signal strength you could gracefully fall back to 96 Kbit/s for better stability and dropout resistance. A2DP Apt-X and AAC already do this.)
For reference, the kinds of bandwidth required for bidirectional, CD-quality or near CD-quality, stereo audio with a modern codec like AAC, Opus, or even MP3 are on the order of 192 to 640 Kbit/s depending on the desired quality. This is between 0.7% ~ 2.5% of Bluetooth 4.0's theoretical throughput limit, and 9.6% ~ 32% of Bluetooth 5 Low Energy's theoretical throughput limit. Even with marginal signal strength, either one of those protocols could easily handle low to medium-quality in both directions at extreme ranges of maybe 80 or 90 meters.

Has anyone tried an aptX bluetooth dongle with an aptX bluetooth headset? The compressed stereo audio stream could leave room for the microphone channel to coexist.
In Windows 10, even with two headsets connected, using the microphone on one disables the stereo audio output (on both / on the other). So you can't use two headsets, one as stereo out and one as microphone in.
