Dumbo Subway Extension

Community must begin deliberations with CB2, Council member Steve Levin, Borough President Eric Adams, and elected representatives at the state and federal level as well as the private sector (developers). The process will take years and money, which is neither budgeted nor available.

It is vital to have two safe and spacious exits with ADA access in this particular subway station.

Yes, we need a safer, more efficient station. Knowing how construction goes in NYC and with projects under the aegis of the MTA, the community needs to stay on top of just how the York Street station would be altered. Take the much-needed project to "rehabilitate" the Brooklyn Bridge. From the start in the summer of 2010, work was scheduled all during the night, completely with jackhammering, mind-banging motion alarms on construction vehicles, increased air and noise pollution AND a de-facto waiver of the NYC Noise Code. All that said, I vote for re-doing the station with finesse!
