New school yet so much that should have already been implemented. From day, one crosswalks and shade have been talked about and talked about between parents waiting during pick up. Need crosswalks going across all the surrounding streets do you need a crosswalk coming from the south side exits all the way to the street preferably in line at the crosswalk off of Braden Street. Yes even where they’re supposed to be grass. Some of the grass area could be a parking lot instead of grass and it would’ve been smarter to get sod instead of plant seed that’s going to fry, blow away & get eaten by the birds.

Traffic light will likely not help traffic but actually cause more back up so I do not agree with that part of the petition. Completely agree with the play area issues.

I’m not a parent of students at this school, but grandparent and TAXPAYER. This entire building was poorly thought out. There is a drain off ditch right on the school grounds, yet no fencing. So our tax dollars bought a drainage pit in lieu of an adequate playground. Seems as though someone sold this property to Dumas, which MY tax dollars pay for, and made a hefty profit. The cafeteria/gym too small. Design and planning POOR. You want citizens to pay for this, but you don’t want their input. No desks for teachers in rooms? Our forefathers who wrote the constitution of this great country, got their education out of a one room wooden school house, with a pot belly stove and windows. The bldg served as a church on Sunday. I feel Dumas citizens have been duped. We didn’t need all these new schools anyway. Cactus did. We were told the cost of repairs to older schools was cost prohibitive. But now they want to renovate some for city office space. Really? The majority of Dumas are not happy with the way this all occurred. When voting, you’d have to have been a Philadelphia lawyer to have even understood it by the obscure way it was written. I think the City of Dumas needs to realize WE THE PEOPLE DONT WORK FOR YOU! YOU WORK FOR US. Please stop treating us like we are dumb and stupid. Disrespectful and frankly an insult. I would like to see the financials, which is our right, and an item by item accounting for all the monies spent.
