The university has officially agreed to implement a lenient marking scheme for our macro-economics paper. This result belongs entirely to the hundreds of you who spoke up when things felt unfair. I honestly never imagined we would see such a positive turn of events.

Respected Vice Chancellor (Delhi University),
The annual examinations for B.A. Honours Economics Second Year are being held from 7th April-3rd May 2010. Paper no. 5 i.e. Macro-economics was held on 24th April 2010. The question paper left many students stumped as most questions were of a higher difficulty level that previous years'. The guideines set for the paper did not mention that questions of such a tougher level could be asked and also the questions that were asked were neither from the textbook, nor from the previous years' papers.
Also, the paper had an excess of theoretical and conceptual questions which led to most students facing time constraints and a majority could not complete their paper on time. We request you to convene a meeting with the student body as well as teachers at the earliest to determine the final outcome i.e. whether a re-exam will be conducted or whether marking will be lenient.
The sentiments echoed here are representative of a majority of Delhi University students and we demand immediate corrective action to be taken.
NOTE - For all those who are signing the petition, please mention your name and college name so that the university knows that everyone faced the same problems.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you have come forward to sign this. Getting near 250 signatures shows just how many of us struggled with that paper. Please keep talking about this because I truly believe our collective experience is the only way we get noticed.

I never imagined that a hundred people would end up backing this request when I first hit publish. It is honestly overwhelming to see so many of you standing together on this issue. This momentum belongs entirely to all of you who took the time to speak up.

SRCC student here. the time constraint was impossible. almost nobody finished the last two questions. we need leniency.
Hindu College. This was not an econ exam it was a test of how fast you can write nonsense. Needs to be addressed.
this paper was absolutely ridiculous. i have been prepping for months and half of that stuff wasnt even in the syllabus. totally unfair to us.
Complete disaster of a paper. They expect us to be geniuses but didnt teach us half the concepts they asked about. Fix this!!
Totally agree. My whole batch is stressed out because of how poorly structured this exam was.

Spent so much time studying past years papers just for it to be a complete waste of time. Not okay.
